Anupra Chandran

Alumnus, The Knowledge Society (TKS) & Co-founder, Biotein

Anupra is an alum of The Knowledge Society, who despite being 18, has a lot of existential dread about aging. Especially how most top causes of death globally happen due to the damage cells accumulate with age, leading to conditions like Alzheimer’s and clogged arteries. She turned this dread into an interest in biotech and startups. She co-founded Biotein, backed by 1517 Fund and advised by researchers at ETH Zurich, Ichor Therapeutics, and more. There, she and her team are building an at-home device, to measure proteins in saliva related to this cellular damage. This could help people monitor their cellular health before disease strikes. Her interest in consumer health products has also led her to intern with The Board of Medicine (analyzing stress-reducing wearables), and pursue a nanoengineering degree at the University of Waterloo, (intending to focus on biosensors). Anupra has been on stage at Websummit Lisbon, Reuters IMPACT, Singularity University Canada Summit, and more.
