Fei is the CEO and Co-Founder of Liven, the first precision fermentation protein company in Canada. The company makes animal-free functional protein ingredients to support alt-protein foods to reach parity of nutrition and mouthfeel with their animal counterpart. Prior to Liven, Fei was an environmental consultant providing sustainable solutions for the resource industry using biotechnology. Liven currently produces animal-free collagen ingredients, an unique ingredient offering equal specialty nutrition and functionality of collagen without animal products. Liven is developing technology making collagen from plant-based side streams, building a circular economy in the food value chain.
