An AI-first approach to enable self-driving at scale

Since the first DARPA Grand Challenge in 2004, the self-driving industry has made meaningful progress but commercial deployment is still limited to simple and small operational domains. In this keynote, Waabi founder Raquel Urtasun unpacks the innovative AI-first approach needed to “drive” safely in the real world and bring the promise of self-driving closer to commercialization than ever before.

TKS Student Spotlight: Securing autonomy over our health with a point-of-care micronutrient biosensor

The way we care for our health is reactive, not proactive. We wait until we get sick before we do something, without a way to measure our health outcomes on a regular basis. Micronutrients affect every aspect of our health, with deficiency being one of the leading indirect causes of diseases like heart failure, cancer, and autoimmune conditions. 2 billion of us are at risk, but we wouldn’t even know it. Tracking micronutrients is a complex process, and the way to assess levels is by visiting the doctor in person and getting a lab test, a tedious process that produces static data. By creating a POC device that you can put beside your bed and measure your micronutrients, we can finally take ownership of our health. Imagine if we can crack our current health outcomes anytime we want, noticing when something’s off before it’s too late.
