Connor Garel is an award-winning writer and critic from Toronto, whose work explores black cultural production in music, fashion, and visual art. His essays, profiles and reportage have appeared in Canadian Art, New York Magazine, VICE, and the Globe & Mail. In 2023, he served as the writer-in-residence at The Walrus, where he wrote a feature about the repatriation of African art in Canadian museums. Presently, Connor is a contributing writer at The Walrus and a contributing editor at Dazed.
