Perdita Felicien is an author, television host, sports broadcaster, two-time Olympian, ten-time National Champion and the first Canadian woman to win a World Championship gold medal in track and field. During her career as a 100-metres hurdler, she earned numerous honours, including Canada’s Athlete of the Year and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

After retiring in 2013, Felicien has worked as a broadcaster, covering multiple international sports events for the CBC, including the 2024 Paris Games – her seventh Olympics with the CBC. Inducted into Athletics Canada’s Hall of Fame, Perdita is the author of the national bestselling memoir, My Mother’s Daughter, about her mother’s flight from St. Lucia, her rocky childhood, and how she found the courage to pursue her athletic dreams.
