Success in Data & AI: Mastering the Art of Adaptability

In a space moving as fast as artificial intelligence (AI), it feels near impossible to stay on top of the latest developments. To build a successful career in AI, one must constantly adapt: recognizing and honing the skills that matter, setting aside those that don’t, and getting used to the discomfort of “not quite” as a way of being. In this talk, Kathryn shares her personal — and relatively atypical — journey in data & AI. From being a literature PhD, to building product teams in ML startups, to leading software development and AI research teams at RBC, Kathryn’s career has been at its core an exercise in adaptability. Join this session and learn the traits that are shared by the highest performers in AI across various roles and hear tips for newcomers to the field.
