Hilary Kilgour is the co-founder and Managing Partner of TheVenture.Fund, one of the first seed stage investment funds in Canada to focus on investing in women-led and non-binary led ventures in climate and health. She has been on the forefront of innovation, and investing for more than a decade – leading local and global investor programs, including: Future Capital, Spring’s first National Investor Challenge, VentureLAB’s Capital Investment Program, and most recently Elevate’s Women+ Entrepreneur Incubator. As an Investor, Advisor, and Board Director, Hilary is focused on developing the capacity of Canada’s top innovators to address our most pressing climate and health challenges.

A systems mind with a collaborative nature, Hilary has helped shaped the landscape of sustainability, social impact and entrepreneurship in Canada. Prior to joining venture capital, Hilary worked as a corporate innovation leader advancing sustainability in some of Canada’s most well known brands. Her 15+ leadership experience spans Fortune’s 100 Fastest-Growing Companies, and leading high-growth, global companies in diverse sectors. She was selected by Corporate Knights, YWCA, and Clean50 for scaling impact for global organizations. She has played a pivotal role as the Facilitator for Elevate’s Working Group on advancing Equity, and other leading efforts to advance equity, diversity and inclusion. She continues to serve as a Board Director and advise executive teams navigating change.

With an MBA in Sustainable Systems from Presidio Graduate School, she completed her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen’s University where she was an All-Canadian athlete and played alongside New Zealand’s Women’s League champions while on exchange at the University of Otago. She lives in Vancouver, and loves being in the forest hiking with her dog, Bo.
